The Sky Network "Skyphone" application employs advanced technological standards to deliver SIP-based voice, video, and text messaging services on iOS devices such as iPhone and iPad. Built upon 3GPP IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) guidelines, SkyPhone is designed as a flexible OEM solution that can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of service providers. It is particularly well-suited for providers offering wholesale, international, and prepaid VoIP services to both enterprise and retail users.

The integrated SIP stack adheres to RFC 3261 and complies with 3GPP TS 24.229 Release 9 standards, ensuring broad compatibility with SIP registrars. Additionally, the application supports partial implementation of GSMA's Rich Communication Suite Release 3 and the One Voice profile V1.0.0 (commonly known as GSMA VoLTE), facilitating interoperability within LTE/4G networks.

Provisioning is managed centrally via secure HTTPS connections, with the standard installation including a dedicated provisioning server. The application features a visual voicemail system with preintegrated support for Freeswitch-based voicemail solutions. Enhanced connectivity options include support for STUN (RFC 3489/RFC 5389), ICE (RFC 5245), and TURN (RFC 5766) protocols, providing reliable NAT traversal capabilities. This flexibility allows deployment alongside the Sky Dance STUN/ICE/TURN media server, either independently or in conjunction with a session border controller (SBC), depending on operational scale and requirements.
